Creativity Excercise VIII

This week, our class engaged in a stimulating creativity exercise, drawing inspiration from either an online platform or a book dedicated to nurturing creativity in educational settings. The objective was to immerse ourselves in a creative task and then compose an insightful blog post reflecting on the experience and the lessons gleaned from it. Our particular challenge was to imagine the types of toys one might discover inside a cereal box during the era of the Wild West. We were given a brisk three-minute window to brainstorm as many ideas as we could.

The toys I came up with were:
1. Play guns
2. Play horse
3. Sheriff badge
4. Play cows
5. Play gold coins
6. Toy train
7. Mini Cowboy hat
8. Mini wagons
9. plastic shot glasses

The exercise was enjoyable, and it revealed how we often impose constraints on our own creativity, making it challenging to think freely. Interestingly, creativity sparked anew when someone suggested an unconventional or 'silly' idea, like the inclusion of shot glasses. This experience highlighted that maintaining creativity requires regular practice, emphasizing that it's more of a skill to be honed than an innate art form.
