Patriotic Design

In this week's blog post, I'm excited to delve into a project that has been my focus since August 2023. The project was commissioned by a client who has a strong connection to the military, primarily through his business of relocating military families across the country. He wanted this military affiliation to be the central theme of the design.

However, one of the initial challenges we faced was the client's desire to incorporate an overwhelming number of elements into the design. It became evident that we needed to pare down these elements to achieve a more cohesive and effective composition. To navigate this, I engaged in a thorough discussion with the client, differentiating between what elements were absolutely essential ('must-haves') and those that were merely preferred ('nice-to-haves').

After several rounds of back-and-forth and meticulous work on the composition, we finally arrived at a design that not only looked good but also took into consideration practical aspects like ensuring the vinyl print's seams wouldn't disrupt the overall design. The project has been a journey of collaboration and creative problem-solving, and I'm eager to share the insights and outcomes of this endeavor with you all.

The final approved rendering

Next week I will put the rendering of a picture of the semi-truck to ensure we have enough bleed when printing a cutting between the door gaps.
